Lee Suet-ying is a visual artist who holds a master's degree from Hong Kong Baptist University. Her recent work delves into the concept of territory, encompassing the claimed or occupied space by individuals or institutions, along with the borders established to denote ownership. She finds interest in the potential reclamation of a space by nature if left untended. Lee’s artistic process involves an organic exploration of materials, allowing their inherent logic and reaction to the surrounding environment to guide their transformation into their final form. While she initiates the process by exerting control and marking the territory, she then allows the materials and surrounding conditions to negotiate the remaining development.
