Bread, on the other hand, a seemingly humble necessity, has a history spanning thousands of years. The baking of bread is a craft that has been refined over time through repeated experimentation, and it embodies the importance of sustenance and life itself. Food processing has driven the development of human civilization. The modern sandwich inhibits the growth of bacteria, ensuring it remains fresh and controllable under specific conditions. The sandwich, a highly processed and convenient food, is a testament to that.
